SXSW 2014 Band Highlight: Jambinai

I'm starting off a new series here on K-RoK Rocks!!! - an introduction to all the Korean bands coming to SXSW this year. And I'm starting off with the amazingly unique and powerful band Jambinai.

First appearing on the Korean music scene in 2010, Jambinai has been taking the indie scene by storm, one performance at a time. They've been named Special Rookie of the Year by Korean broadcasting company EBS in 2010, then selected as the "MAP" by the Seoul Foundation for Arts & Culture in 2011 & nominated for 2 Korean Music Awards in 2013 for their first full-length album Differance. They've been internationally recognized by numerous music festivals including the Oslo World Music Festival, World Music Expo (WOMEX) in the United Kingdom in 2013, and this year's South By Southwest Music festival in Austin, Texas. Whether you're a fan of traditional music, or hardcore rock, there's something for you to enjoy in the creative world of Jambinai.

Jambinai's music is spellbinding, dynamic and one of a kind. No other band has fused the sounds of Korea with a Western flavor better. Check out this live performance of Time of Extinction:

They're still growing their fanbase, but they have a few places for you to connect with them.
You can check out their Official Facebook Page or their Official Twitter Page.

And check out another great song of theirs called Connection:

I'll be updating all the official SXSW bands' showcase and concert dates as they come in, so stay tuned to see when and where you can catch this amazing band live in Texas next month!
